Deborah Dillon
"Deborah is a fine artist whose work is inspired by the beauty of nature and everyday moments. From the simplest ray of light, to a playful chihuahua, to delicate flowers or striking portraits, she is fascinated by the world around her. Her goal is to capture and convey these fleeting, ephemeral moments of beauty through her drawings and paintings.
Her love of art began at an early age. As a child, she often challenged her father to draw various objects or characters, which she would then attempt to replicate herself. Deborah completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State University and studied abroad at the University of Westminster in London, UK. She later earned an associate’s degree in Photography from her local community college before deciding to fully pursue her passion for fine art. This led her to the Dominican Republic, where she completed the rigorous curriculum at the Ani Art Academies Dominicana, in Río San Juan, where she also went on to work for several years as an Art Instructor.
Now a mother and a Credentialed Art Teacher with a Masters in Education, Deborah teaches art by day and dedicates any free moment she can find to working on her own artwork. She lives in the mountains of Southern California with her family where she works alongside her husband and fellow artist Edward Dillon at The Dillon Studio, where they mentor aspiring artists and help them develop strong technical skills and a lifelong dedication to their craft.
Her artwork has received numerous awards and has been selected as a finalist in several competitions. Her work has been published in national magazines, featured in Strokes of Genius: Creative Discoveries!, and in the book by fellow artist Juliette Aristides, Beginning Drawing Atelier."
