I love to paint different surfaces and textures – in this instance, the white powdery bloom on the blueberries and the mottled tarnish on the bowl and spoon. The sun’s reflection in the spoon was a serendipitous bonus and is my favorite part of this painting. The berries came from the Owasso Christmas Tree & Berry Farm a few miles from where I live. I was a little late and completely missed out on the fresh blueberries last year. This year I had my hind parts in line at 6:30 am on day one of the season and made a pretty good haul.
