I found this marionette hanging on a wooden peg at a market in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, Italy. Inspired by the Adventures of Pinochio which is rumored to be set in the north of Florence, I chose to paint this version with his strings clipped, giving him the freedom of will.  - Devin Reynolds
