A finely detailed small vessel, hand-turned from alligator juniper, where carved pattern and natural material are held in careful balance. The upper form features a hand-carved basket weave design, interwoven with Southwest-inspired motifs and accented by small turquoise cabochons encircling the mouth.
Sections of the body are carved in a cliff-dwelling-style brick pattern and finished in layered earth pigments, echoing the tones of sandstone across the region. These textured areas transition into smooth passages of natural wood, where the juniper’s grain and color are left untouched to speak for themselves.
A small natural bark inclusion is thoughtfully inlaid with crushed Kingman turquoise, transforming an organic imperfection into a point of focus. The result is a richly layered piece that brings together surface, color, and material in a cohesive, place-driven form.
