The Broken Amulet is a drawing about the safety we seek and the pain that it can bring. The piece depicts a young girl holding a conch shell, an object often associated with protection and strength. However, what she thought would protect her, harms her with its jagged form and sharp edges. Through this artwork, I hope to encourage viewers to question things or people they choose to keep close to them. The Broken Amulet serves as a reminder that what we perceive as a source of safety can cause more harm than good.
