Welinton Medina Lopez (b. June 25, 1986) Welinton was born in Rio San Juan, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Dominican Republic. He was deeply passionate about art as a child and was always drawing many different things.

When he was twenty-four years old, he finished studying at the Universidad Abierta Para Adultos (UAPA) in Nagua where he graduated with a degree in Tourism. When Ani Art Academies Dominicana opened in his hometown, Welinton was extremely interested in studying there because it has always been his dream to be a professional artist. While studying at Ani Art Academies Dominicana, Welinton became deeply immersed in the program and felt a great sense of belonging. Today, Welinton is the acting Dean of Ani Art Academies Dominicana.
