This hand-turned Alligator Juniper vessel is inspired by the iconic shapes of Anasazi cliff dwellings, blending natural beauty with cultural storytelling. At the mouth, a natural knot is inlaid with crushed turquoise, while a large Kingman blue turquoise cabochon is set into the side of the vessel, serving as a striking focal point. Encircling the mouth is a hand-carved basket illusion design, accented with four larger motifs, each featuring a small turquoise cabochon at its center. The main body of the piece is partially hand-carved to resemble the natural sandstone bricks of cliff dwellings, while the remaining areas retain the rich, warm red tones of the juniper, creating a dynamic contrast between carved and natural surfaces. This vessel beautifully marries traditional inspiration, exquisite craftsmanship, and the vibrant colors of turquoise and juniper, making it a compelling work of art and a tribute to Southwestern heritage.
